Reluctant to Play Online Poker?
|
Overview True poker is a medium- sized online site that uses 3-D graphics. Every player moves and speaks while making plays. This might be good for people who like realism, but it does slow down the action. Competition (7/10) There seems to be a fair number of bad players here. The only problem is it’s hard to find a great table. The advantage of larger sites is you can spend ten minutes searching out a great table and can readily move to a new table. In contrast, the relative lack of full tables at True has you taking your chances when sitting down. Connection Speed and Reliability (8/10) The site seems fast and stable, judging by our experiences. Graphics and Functionality (8/10) The lobby is nothing special, but the tables are pretty cool. If you like something other than the standard 2-D table and seats, this is the place for you. The down-side is the speed of the action. Having the players react like real-life makes the game play more at a brick-and-mortar speed than internet speed. For experienced players, this is a major downer if you aren’t playing at other sites at the same time. Support (4/10) The general consensus is that True Poker needs a better support center. They are often slow to react to complaints. We've had emails remain unanswered.

Games and Rules (6/10) Texas Holdem. Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo are played at True Poker. But it is only the lower stake limit and no limit Holdem that have a reasonable number of players/tables. True also offers single table and multi-table tournaments. The relative lack of players and tournaments make the multi-table tournaments somewhat unappealing (we have never played in one). Overall 7 (out of 10/ not an average) If you want the feel of playing true poker at a true poker table then True Poker is the place for you! This is especially important if you are gearing up for your first run at a brick-and-mortar poker room. The simulation is quite good. If you like your online poker fast, with a lot of table selection, and with massive multi-table tournaments running around the clock, then True Poker isn’t the place for you. Its worth checking True Poker out just to see if it suits you—it is different from many of the more standard sites.
