Reluctant to Play Online Poker?

Overview

Interpoker has had its problems with reliability, but this has chased away many of the sharks. So right now it is a great place to play, because the latest software upgrades have resolved stability issues.

US players are welcome.

Competition (8/10)

Crashes in the past have chased away most of the pros. This leaves mostly new players, many whom are recruited through Inter’s large casino site.

Lately, both ring games and tournaments are juicy juicy juicy.

Connection Speed and Reliability (5/10)

In the past, InterPoker gave online poker a bad name. They clearly went live before they should have, especially with tournaments.

The number of crashes was totally unacceptable. To be involved in multi-table tournaments that go down, frantically reconnect only to find that the tournament may-or-may-not be cancelled because 70% of the field is still disconnected, and then have to continue playing just in case… frustrating.

That seems to be history, however; recently we've had no trouble connecting perfectly to four tables at a time. We will increase Interpoker's rating in this category when we have six months of crash-free playing.

Graphics and Functionality (7/10)

They are tweaking this over time, and most changes are for the better. In general, it is a pretty generic site that makes anyone comfortable, but indifferent.

The lobby is very functional though, especially the tournament lobby, which we think is the best in the business.

Games and Rules (7/10)

The standards are here—Holdem, the Omahas, and Seven Card Stud. There are a good number of juicy games going at most limits.

InterPoker is a great place to play in tournaments—there are a lot of low limit tournaments going on around-the-clock and your opponents think allin is the best and only poker move. Tournament players should definitely add this site to their list.

Support (5/10)

Sometimes these people are under siege! To placate you they will throw money your way, so complain hard if something goes wrong. Always ask for the complaint to be reviewed by the poker manager or send email directly to him through the link.

The simple fact is that sometimes major things go wrong and they don’t have a staff big enough to handle these emergencies. The phone lines get jammed and the email reply time gets extended.

So if the site crashes, write a polite but pointed email after about 24 hours and be patient.

Their replies are always polite, rarely prompt, sometimes in broken English, and seldom show poker expertise because the staff work in the general casino operations. But they do try to satisfy you, when some other sites don't seem to even try.

The software is stable now, and the players worse than ever. InterPoker is definitely the place to make money at poker.
