Full Tilt (9.5/10)

PokerRoom.com (9/10)

Overview

Full Tilt is most noted for the fact that it has endorsements from some of the best-known poker pros, including Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Howard Lederer and the great Phil Ivey.

The strength of this site is its professionalism, its weakness was its relative lack of players. However, do to the shakeup in the online poker world this is no longer an issue. Business is booming at Full Tilt. Open to US players!

Competition (8/10)

WIth the recent boom in player recruitment the competition at Full Tilt is excellent. Formerly empty tables are now packed with a wide variety of players.

Connection Speed and Reliability (8/10)

For some reason their web page seems sluggish at times, but their software and game servers seem pretty tight. They seem to have hired a very good staff of programmers (unlike some other sites) who wrote some great code.

Graphics and Functionality (9/10)

The software looks great and is fast and functional.
The table graphics are a bit different than the norm; you get to play as a cool cartoon icon with some basic facial expressions. This adds some fun, but really won’t matter to most players.

Games and Rules (7/10)

They have Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7-Stud, and the never-popular Razz. The Holdem games are the only place you will be sure to get a game at any limit, day or night. The other games are less popular, and it can be hard to find a suitable game in off-hours.

We congratulate Full Tilt on their tournaments. Their blind/ante structure is the very best on the internet. It is refreshing to play at a site where they value skill over coin flips.

That said, you will need to plan ahead to play a multi-table tournament at your level of stakes—they don’t start quite as often as at the bigger sites. But recently they have doubled the number of tournaments per day and have increased the guarantee prize pools, so things are looking up. Skilled tournament players should definitely use this site for at least some of their action.

Support (8/10)

Full Tilt appears to have excellent email support, but we really haven’t had many problems so we've lacked any chance to fully evaluate them.

Be sure you sign up for their email program—you will get weekly emails from the poker pros with stories and tips.

Overall 9.5 (out of 10/ not an average)

Full Tilt is a quality organization that has grown into a major player in the internet poker scene. The software and support is there, and so are the Americans.
